Saturday evening I went with Yanka (from the office), her husband Roman, and some of their friends, Yanka and Adja to the Alpine Ski Race up in one of the nearby mountains. Some of last years NH team might remember the place as the one we took the bus to and then half of us went to the left and explored the alpine lodges and restuarants and hiking trails and the other half of us went straight up the road and found a river - Shannon I think you and I went up the road together! Anyway, Roman bought some new kind of ski material so you can walk up the snowy mountain and then take them off and ski down. The lodge area was having a competition to see who was the fastest....so we went to see....(Roman didn't enter the competition - just wanted to try them out). We had a great time - the two Yankas are in my line dance class so we practiced line dancing when we got too cold to just stand there anymore!

Dog Sleds and Alpine Races
Friday at the elementary school on the other side of the dorm, (not the one affiliated with the Bible School), the children had all kinds of exciting visitors. The police were there and an ambulance, but the visitors that excited the children the most were the Sled Dogs! Those dogs love pulling sleds! And those kids loved being in the sled when they did! I snapped these pics from my apartment:
