I have been in Bremerton, Washington since the 29th to be with my oldest brother, Mike....who died of liver failure on February 2nd. The memorial service is on Saturday where he will receive full military honors, (taps, 21 gun salute, flag ceremony) as he was a 30 year veteran of the U.S. Navy. I am here with my dad, another brother and sister. My heart is so heavy at his loss...yet I rejoice because though he was sedated and unresponsive when we arrived, we took him off sedation and after a few days, the Good Lord allowed him to awake and be responsive enough to blink his eyes at yes or no questions. Our Gracious Heavenly Father also allowed Mike to hear the Words of Salvation and with a decisive blink of his eyes, he accepted the offer of Salvation in Jesus Christ. The next few days were spent praying, singing and holding his hand all the way to heaven. He died peacefully with his family at his side and Jesus in his heart.
I will be home late Saturday the 7th for a few days and then will fly back to Slovakia on the 12th to begin classes again on the 16th. Please pray for strength to get through the next few days and weeks....
Thank you - I am grateful for you all.

Oh Mary, I'm so sorry for your loss but I am happy that he's in heaven. You and the rest of your family are in my thoughts. Brook
Dearest Mary, We were so sorry to hear about your brother. But also joyful to hear that he said yes to Jesus before he went.
We love you, and pray for you and your family that Jesus, with his peace that will outlive every storm, will surround your hearts.
Cecilie and Jan Ruben
Thank you so much for your notes Brook, Cecilie and Jan. I appreciate your prayers very much....
