The gas crisis between Russia and the Ukraine has affected us here in Slovakia as well. The latest news is that if the industrial companies reduce their energy consumption to the bare minimum, we have enough gas to last for 10 days. If they don't we have enough for 2 days. The gas directly affects electricity here which means, no gas, no electric, no heat, no schools, no stores.....it's a domino affect. Michal has a plan to care for us so no need to worry about us in the immediate, but please do pray that the crisis will come quickly to an end and that the gas will be turned on in the next few days....it's really cold here and I hate thinking of little chilren freezing in their beds. Most places around here don't have fireplaces for heating so electricity is the main source for cooking and heating.

oh Mary... I didn't realize the gas crisis over there would have such an effect!!! I will definitely be praying for a resolution to the crisis and for all to stay warm... --Kim
