Michal and his mom and the kids invited me and Grace and Lupka for a little outing to one of the kids' favorite spots! There are tree houses everywhere! (They are actually hunting shacks built in the trees but the kids see them as tree houses). Then we headed up a road that Michal had wanted to travel on to see what was ahead....we were pleasantly surprised to see a horse ranch perfectly placed at the top of the hill!
What fun we had watching them work with the horses! This particular horse ranch is new and they will sell you a horse, board it for you and teach you how to ride and care for it! What a deal! I don't how much they charge, but I thought it was a great idea! They also will allow school children to come and learn about the horses, maybe take a ride around the ring.....Michal jumped on that right away and is working on the elementary school taking advantage of a new experience such as this! I hope I get to go with them when they get it all worked out!
Well, I have my second week of classes done. I missed one 2 hour class because they changed my schedule on me but I didn't know it! So, the kids got a few hours extra and I did too....we'll catch up next time. I am beginning to get a feel for what is needed and how to teach it. I have been blessed immeasureably by faithful friends who have provided materials and support and the ever needed encouragement! Thank you all my dear, dear friends.....

Hi Mary!
I read ALL of your blogs this morning. I have misplaced your card.... Kim and I went out to Firkin Frog for dinner last night and of course you were one of many topics of discussion. Sorry not just the only one. :-) Thanks for sharing your adventures and how God is working in your life. I'm not sure about coming next summer-I'll have to see about $. My kids and I are going to Maui for 8 days over Thanksgiving. It might be one of our last family vacations before they start getting married etc(Neither has plans as of today)
School's going fine-I have 4 different classes to plan for each day but the students are great!
After going to Slovakia, I have a whole different perspective of ELL students. I have several students from the Slavic countries in one classes so I try and remember how hard it is to learn, hear and speak a new language.
Thanks for sharing your pictures etc.
I will continue to pray for you. Let me know if you need any school stuff.
Love Ya. your gum chewing Slovakian Sister

Hey, Mary!
Love reading the blog. I was hoping you would post a story about your visa kafafle, especially since I haven't had a chance to visit with you of late. I'm assuming everything worked out okay, but I wondered how you made it on your own driving across the countryside and into another country. Yikes!
By the way, could someone tell me what "Firkn Frog" is all about? : )
HI Penny,
I don't know what Firkin' Frog is all about...Janet or Kim, can you enlighten us???
